Today while driving in slow moving traffic (in rain) for about 10mins, I saw the car infront edging foward & I looked in my RVM.

Then smack, I hit it sending the Pug 306 in front about 5 metres forward!

The womens car was totally undamaged.

I recived a cracked number plate surround, and a 'spider' effect of peeling paintwork

As the bumper was orignally green (Shude's) the bumper has had a respray and not OEM paintjob the paint is peeling off, showing the green :(

Totally my own fault, but its so easy to look away for a second at hit somthing.

Get a cheap £3 plate surround for crashes like this, it reduced the bumper damage :)

Maybe my old car parts are cursed!

I said you should have had the rest of the car painted to match the bumpers, not the other way around! ;) The paint would have been fine if you'd done that ;)

And it's knocked almost all the letters and numbers off your number plate too!!!

That's so annoying, if you had been the car in front you'd have gone (over the roundabout/junction/whatever) so you expect them to do it too, quick check in the mirror, quick check up the road and your ready to go and then...... the car in front decides not to go after all. I guess the lesson is to leave more space when sitting behind another car.

Bad luck, at least it's only a bumper respray and not real metal bodywork. There are specialist flexible paints/primers for bumpers that withstand that sort of abuse, make sure your bodyshop uses one this time.
