As most know its been 1 struggle after another with my 280ce....i finally got it going but it wont tick over, seems like fuel starvation so i clamped up the return fuel pipe and she ticks over and revs ok. So, i thought it was the pressure regulator, managed to find one for a good price, just fitted and ..... nothing.
It starts but conks out almost immediately. i'm actually begging for help now...Anyone got any ideas? i know its a d-tronic engine so could it be sensors?or ecu? :wallbash: any help would be much appreciated. thanks

could be the cold start sensor, might have a perished pipe sucking in air somewhere . Had it with a dodgy pressure regulator before making the car run too rich and cut out .

thanks alot, ill check the pipes, noticed the fuel pump, when i turn the ignition off on off on to build up more pressure does leak a bit? i wouldn't think that makes too much problem but with it being such a complicated pressure system would this have this effect? thanks again for any help

It could be sucking in air with the leaking pump but i think it wouldn't stop it running. Have you taken out the injectors and cleaned them ? If the car hasn't been used for ages and the fuel has gotten low or gone off the injectors on these can cake up with crap . If you remove the injectors be carefull not to drop bits of the old seals into the engine if they are in bad condition .

i was going to take the injectors out today but if these were blocked, how would it run when i clamped the return fuel line? it seems to be the pressure rather then anything blocked? im going to get a new fuel pump and see if that helps!
