So, Windows Media Player 10...

Just tried an update, but vmp9 said 'there is no update available.'

SP2 installed here on 2 out of 4; no problems

Just d/l WMP10; my main player is Media Center, but WMP is useful for video. Hope 10 is quick to load like 9 ...

Just had a quick play - looks very nice, works well, pretty visualisations

Seems to have a problem with the graphic equaliser presets though - change to a preset mid-song and it all goes quiet - but only the first time

No iPod support though (AFAICS), so will stick with Media Center for syncing (apart from the fact that I paid for that, so need to get my money's worth :p )

Slower to load! Grr!

I't much prettier and adds a few features here and there.... Trying to play catch up with integrated offerings from Apple and the like.... Too big and too slow though.

I have gone back to using Winamp for MP3s as it loads in a poofteenth of a second. I don't mind letting the video playback run with Media Player though.

Hmm given the feedback, I think I will stick to version 9.0 and give 10.0 a miss for the moment. I plan to hang fire on SP2 for a while longer too.

Thanks for the feedback guys :)

SP2 still not giving me any grief at all!

Just installed 10, seems a bit more commercial though, with buttons to buy things, or to download more (fee) media.

Visualisation not quite as good as I thought they would be (essentially the same as 9) with the exception of the extra optional downloads which are better

The launch is to coincide with their iTunes competitor I think, hence the commercial aspect.
