S211 E320 Estate
Hi all. I have an S210 E320 estate, it has done us proud and mechanically it is great. We have looked around for a replacement car but in our budget there is a lot of scrap... We recently traveled about 80 miles to look at an 03 plate with 50K miles less than ours and it was awful. So, with that in mind, we want to get the alloys refurbed and the odd bit of rust sorted out. We would like to have heated seats in the front and I am wondering if I buy some replacement (Used) front seats along with the switch panel, can I simply change over the seats and connect up the switch panel and have heated seats? Or is there more involved than this? Does it need reprogramming? I would also like to sort out an occasionally sticky drivers window, it is fine going down but once in a while it sticks going back up and needs some switch manipulation to get it to fully go up again, is this a simple change the regulator and away we go or do you envisage any other issues please?
Hoping to get some replies...
TIA

Keith

Hi
You need

a) Switch Pack
b) Seats with inbuilt pads (i've said this rather than pads and wiring to install as you suggested it)
c) wiring loom
d) Passenger SAM on some vehicles as that controls heated seats and depending on what options you have depends on whether it needs the SAM or not

- there are 2 different versions of the loom - again model year and option dependent

Hi Richard. Thanks for the reply, I wasn't aware that I had suggested pads and wiring, I intended to buy the complete interior, so complete seats.
How do I know what wiring loom to ask the breaker for? Also where is the SAM unit to be found please?
How can I tell which wiring loom I need?
I am starting to think that this could be a bit to complicated for me to tackle...... :(

Keith

SAM is on the back of the metal plate in the footwell. Loom should be bought new, its cheap enough and breakers don't take out looms in 1 piece ever

If you get the interior (and send me Alfie the VIN), he'll quote to supply the extra parts (and tell you what you need from that car) and install it.

Cheers

Richard

May look into this myself :)
