Something Electrical Missing!!!

Did a spark plug change to those Bosch super 4s and did a radiator drain and fill, and noticed something i should have along time ago. I have no idea whats missing BUT something shurely is missing there as theres wires cut and a unconnected connector plug. If anyone knows what is meant to be there please let me know as im very curious. Picture below

Probably some sort of aftermarket fitment(alarm maybe) that has been removed.The blue and black wire that I can see certainly doesn't look like its OEM.

You may be right . i have not got the plug in mine but i had removed the MB alarm and installed a toad one instead as the MB Took forever to sound.
i certainly have no plug there ,just insulated thick wires running under the fuse box into the dash.
i remember this as i had to take that whole section out when a fuse fell into the little gap.

Did the car ever have a tow bar fitted?

(Mounting holes in the boot well?).

Some sellers remove tow bars (for obvious resale value reasons) and try to hide the 'tracks' by also removing the electrics. In this case, it could have been the battery and ignition controlled power supplies to the 'second' rear socket for charging/fridge supply - only if towing was used for a caravan.

As far as i can tell by looking there are no signs of a tow bar fitted previously.
