The icarsoft range can

Carly can too, although, again it isn't the cheapest but is significantly cheaper than icarsoft (even more so if you already have an adapter)

Up the Cetane = less soot .
not really sure i understand this, maybe am thick? :)

anyway hooked up an adapter today vgate pro, iphone 12 and used car scanner found al ot of info from various sensor's but there was nothing relating to dpf, so i am wondering is this one locked down by mercedes??
reason am asking about the dpf and soot is that i do not do a lot of motorway miles maybe 8 each way to and from work, in my insignia diesal 2lt it would do a regen every 350/400 miles without fail and i could monitor all this via an app (opal dpf) with the mercedes i have only had it 3mth done 1700 miles and not had any indication that it has even attempted to do a regen. looking at the icarsoft v3 unit at £169 quid could be worth investing in one of these..........

I've got the MB V2 and only today read the soot content 400% 😩 c220d

Apparently so but haven't worked it out yet and yes its accurate as the eml is on

Spend the extra ££ and get the Icarsoft CR Pro (£210) , it will give you all the info you need regarding the DPF and it will also do a forced regen if required. Keep it for a few years and get it updated regularly and sell it for 50% of the purchase price.

It will pay for itself the first time you use it.

Why the CR Pro ? it covers nearly all mainstream manufacturers so it will be more desirable when it comes to sell.

Just my 2p worth.

I bought mine from Diagnostic World.

There maybe a forum discount somewhere from another supplier - iCarsoft CR Max Review - Advanced OBD Scanning/Diagnostic/Code Clearing Tool ***£25 Off Forum Discount Code*** | Electronics and Audio

I have the Icarsoft MB V2 and did monitor my regen once when I took it for a 20 mile drive, if I hadn't had it plugged in during the short journey I would never have known the regen had taken place, there was no indication at all, I didn't go above 60mph, no sport mode or high revs, it happened completely passively. The fill level went down to 5% then stopped.
But unless I'm mistake the Icarsoft MB V2 will not do a forced regen.

is it able to tell the car it has a new dpf filter fitted?

Very much doubt it , it can show soot / ash levels , when the last time the regen took place , time / mileage / fuel used since last regen etc.
