Soot on tail pipe

Hi guys. I have a 2005 cls 320cdi which I've owned for 5years. Since I got it tail pipes have been very clean I mean I use to swipe my finger in the pipes and finger would stay clean. But recently tail pipes are getting blacker everyday...this all started after I got check engine light.....took it to mercedes for star diagnosis came back with 2 faulty glow plugs, o2 sensor and dpf full past forced regeneration plus other minor things...I posted on here and I was recommended to visit the guys at star motor services in Reading. Took it there and was told I need a boost pressure sensor mentioned the soot and they said its because engine was not operating as it should and I should drive and see if check engine light comes on again which it hasn't. My problem is I got mot very soon and I don't wana fail. What mite be causing this soot build up?? Please help. Ps I could hear rattling near egr so pulled egr and gave it good clean and lube but found the circular magnet in egr body chipped...can this be one of the issues? Please help. Thanks

Hi. Sorry I didn't take a pic but it's inside the motor part of egr valve... it a circular greyish component which I think spins and making the valve open or close. This had a small piece chipped off the edge. I removed small piece that chipped and put back together. I was goin to buy a new one but mercedes said its on back order.

Re your mot. I always do an Italian tune up on the way to the test to blast out any shots and get everything up to operating temperature.
