Hi guys, new to this particular forum, but since it's a UK forum, it's most relevant.

So my '56 W209 CLK (220/722.6) may be due a couple propshaft bushings/flex discs. I've checked all the usual car part websites, however all I have visited do not supply these parts for my car, so the only other option I can see is the MB dealer.

Where have other members sourced these parts from, besides the dealer?
I do not want cheap aftermarket pieces, there are a couple Lemfoerder/febi on eBay, but I do not trust their genuinity.

Any help appreciated.

Tia,
Ben

Okay thanks, I'm not local to London, but, I'll have a check of my WIS for the part #s, and have a look, see if those guys can compete with the dealer's price if shipping is possible.

Any other suggestions most welcome meanwhile,

Ben

Have you got the MB part number(s)? If so, find the Lemfoerder equivalent reference and buy those from a reputable source.

Or, to be sure, get the original MB parts from here:
Suche nach OE - Original-Ersatzteil-Nummer

I've used them many times and they are very reliable.

The flex discs come from SGF in Germany. You can buy from their site too but I think you'd need to buy the MB nuts and bolts separately.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the link. I have spoken to my father and he has just told me there's a place in my city who do prop shafts, custom and otherwise, and looking online they do have a part number for my piece, so I'm going to check that out tomorrow, see if it's reputable or matches with any of the decent manufacturer p/n. That german supplier looks to be £75+delivery.

I've got to ring the dealer tomorrow for a parking sensor, so I'll check them out on a price too while I'm at it.

This is the front one. Getting a bar on it and giving it some load, I don't see any significant movement in and around the bolts, no cracks showing through. As you can see however there is a bit of light surface cracking. I don't think this worries me too much. However the rear bush has the surface cracking, but about ten times worse and all over. It also has a couple small cracks showing around the bolts when I give it some load with a bar. So this one needs to be changed. I will probably change both just for good measure however.

My last CLK270 was a manual, this 220 is an auto, so I'm not familiar with how they're supposed to be, but it's been great over the last year I've had it now. With the car sat in neutral I can feel the car, not clunk, this or jolt, but I can feel it turn and catch into both reverse and drive. Not sure whether this is normal though...

Looking at the rear transmission mount while under there, that looks all good.
