Yesterday, I took the Merc out for a pleasent jolly along a Norfolk A-Road.
The weather was perfect, all windows were dropped and the traffic was light.
That is unit, while I'm plodding a long, a bird flies out in front of me and disappears out of sight. No feathers behind me, so I carry on, believing I'm missed it.

When I reach home, I find the poor little blighter met his end being wedged by the side of my (undamaged) grill  :o :(

With the pleasent spring wether, has anyone else had any near misses with their local fauna?

Sunday a bird played chicken with me. I thought it would move as they normally do, but sadly did not. I presume it must have been ill/broken to not have done so.

Few years ago also came over a very low brow of a hill, to find it was (just) hiding a family of ducklings crossing the road. A line of them spread from one side to the other, had absolutely nowhere to go to avoid them. Still feel guilty, even though there was nothing I could do.

Nar, just the usual dam flies or flying things .

What sort of bird is it?

Hopefully not a rare Great Reed Warbler that has just flown all the way from Africa.

That photo needs a caption, or better still a speech bubble. Something like "Burp!"

I take it your motor was a bit, err, peckish?

Well at least it didn't have two Shreaded Tweet.....:o

couple of years ago i was driving to work (4am start) and was just going from an unlit area to one with street lights when something came almost all the way through my windscreen (laminated) , covering me in little shards of glass, i thought someone had chucked something at me, in day light you could makeout brown feathers, so im assuming it was an owl.

Another bird on the grill - it must be barbecue season...
