Suspension query

Hey guys i had the chance to lok under my 2003 E320 Cdi Estate and noticed the rear suspension looks as in the photo i also found the compressor under the front nearside wing but there are no controls or switches on the car to control it so how is it controlled..

Estates are self levelling from the rear, the sensor to control the level is on the rear axle and chassis in the form of a small adjustable lever arrangement. There won't be any controls in the cabin unless you have full air suspension.
