My CLK 230 has the telephone buttons on the steering wheel, but it doesn't have a telephone, so wondered what I need and where can I get the parts required?

Do you have a cradle or connector in the central cubby box (in the top part)?

As Ted has said, you need the rest of the telephone pre-install package fitted in the top part of the arm rest. The top opens sideways if you have it, like this

If you have this wiring pre-installed you then need a phone cradle or bluetooth adapter to plug into it. Bluetooth adapter below

Most Mercedes have the telephone buttons on the steering wheel and audio system, but not all have the wiring. Without the wiring pre-install they are useless. Retro fitting of the Mercedes system is very expensive and a lot of owners go for after market fitments. Do a search on here for telephone cradles.

Your car is too old to have the above UHI connector. If your car had the factory telephone option you would have a fixed Nokia cradle in the car. See fixed cradle section on the link: http://www.mercupgrades.com/Choosing+Bluetooth+Cradle+for+European+Mercedes+Vehicles-article-41.html

All cars have the telephone buttons regardless of whether they have the optional factory phone.

You could retrofit the older fixed cradle system that would have come in your year car if you can find all the parts needed on ebay or a breakers. http://www.mercupgrades.com/W208+CLK+Nokia+6210i+Phone+Retrofit-article-2.html

Or you can retrofit the newer UHI system to older D2B based cars like yours but it is expensive: Phone retrofit kit for D2B based cars | Phone System Retrofit Kits | Mercedes Retrofits | Comand Online Ltd plus you will also need a bluetooth adapter like the Viseeo MB2.
