Hi I've noticed that even though my phone is connected via Bluetooth, I'm not always receiving messages when I'm driving. I'll get them if it's from a marketing company or one of my friends that uses an old school phone. I was guessing it's something to do with data messaging but I could be wrong. Anyone have any thoughts??

If it is a iPhone, check show notifications is on in the bluetooth setup on your phone.

Thanks for the reply, it's an android phone, pixel to exact. I've sat in the car and sent messages to a couple of friends. The ones I know have smart phones and as I said the one with old school phones. The new ones send and receive messages like WhatsApp. You can now see when a message is delivered on Android using data messaging. And I can here when I have a reply as my phone sounds. But nothing shows on the cars screen and you can't hear/see it by going into the message via car phone option. Once I've read it off my phone it's then there in the car to be heard/seen. It's baffling me. As I've said messages from say my bank, marketing or old school phones come straight through.

Is it the A250e from your profile? How are you connecting your phone to the car, via bluetooth HF profile to the head unit or bluetooth SAP (usually via a bluetooth adapter)?

Hi, it is the a259e and connect it through Bluetooth. I'm not sure if I've found the problem but will give it a try once I'm out of isolation (covid). There is a setting in messages on my phone that can turn off WiFi/data messaging.

Just a quick update. Now I'm free to leave the house I tried turning off the WiFi/data calling/messaging in the message settings, and low and behold I now receive all text messages through the car system
