I'm with renault on this - it's one of those things that rankles (and it's not grammar - it's simply the wrong word!)

A bit like "a hole in a break line will make you loose all the fluid" :p

Interesting- I had to consult a dictionary to confirm that pronunication, as other than on B&W film/TV I don't recall anyone sounding the "er" part. Just doesn't sound right to me, so I'll continue to be a wild non-conformist and flaunt the rules.

Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your Uncle jack off a horse.
