I'm sure this was on here somewhere? I didn't think there were any cls500 only 63 but this has come up before.

Ooh that's nice. Lovely colour combination, great spec, great engine, rare - what's not to like.

I think there were only two SBs with the 4.7 V8 imported; I recall a thread by a forum member who had one of them, in a metallic dark maroon colour if memory serves me correctly, who had some tie-up with Mercedes.

Not keen on the colour combination or the mileage.

But aside from that - rare as in MB didn’t sell many? Were they actually restricted in numbers - I suspect not (although maybe not offered for long). It says in the advert that it is an imported vehicle - so maybe not a UK original car?

My point being is that why would you want this 4.7L V8 petrol with AMG wheels etc over a 5.5L CLS63? Is the VED the same (£735 PA?) as a 5.5 ‘63? I can’t imagine the running costs are any lower in reality :)

Missed that it was imported. It's a bit less shouty than my 63 but easily mapped to 63 power if you wanted. Cheaper than an equivalent 63 too but not by a lot.

Less shouty - I’m not so sure - a little tiny bit maybe. IMHO the CLS SB is quite a statement vehicle in itself - and this one is bright red with a 500 badge and AMG wheels. I do quite like the CLS SB though - but I guess it’s a fairly small niche.

A little bit less so than a CLS63, but by a similar fraction to the difference in price or running costs I expect :)

If you’re going to the trouble of mapping a 500 with AMG wheels, IMHO you’ve bought the wrong car

Quite nice that; would make a nice daily.

Not seen a 218 500 before (didn’t actually know they ever made them) so that’s a first.

But to be fair you can get a decent CLS63 SB for around 17-18 grand, so I’d probably hold out for something like that if I was shopping about.

This was mine for six years since 2018.

A fantastic car, a real sleeper and in many ways I regret selling it, but it was the right time and the longest I have kept any daily driver.

VED, insurance, servicing and parts much less than over-inflated AMG prices and mpg average 24 with over 30 on a long motorway run.

Not imported. Originally a management car for MB head office in Milton Keynes and first registered in the UK. It has a full MB and specialist indie service history, contrary to what the listing states.

If anyone on here is interested in it, pm me and I will answer any questions to the best of my ability. It would be great to see it go to a good home.

I remember it as a different colour. I liked it a lot at the time, and now, courtesy of the interior swop with the 350 diesel, I have one just like it, but a full fat 63.

No, it's always been Thulite Red, as can be seen in my album photos and avatar on here.

Yes, I remember now. Mine's Hyacinth, and Thulite is a little darker than that, but there's not much in it.

I've grown to like the colour combination. This is gorgeous: Mercedes-Benz SL SL350 £13,990 .

Tanzanite or similar is still best, though...
