Hi all,
I had my thermostat replaced at the end of January through a local garage, as the EML appeared and I noticed the car wasn’t warming as it used to. The work cost around £400.
Since having this one, we’ve been unable to clear the EML, even though after a thorough diagnostics it says it’s working as it should.
The local garage suggested reaching out to a Mercedes specialist, so that’s what I done.
The specialist couldn’t give me too many exact answers and was told it ‘maybe’ need the genuine part fitting for £780 through them, after paying for a STAR Diagnostic.
What I’m asking is, has anyone had a problem where the car did not like a non Mercedes part and do I need to bite the bullet and pay this for the genuine part to be fitted… the guy wasn’t 100% sure if it will fix it, my worry is that it’ll be done at that cost and again the EML will not disappear!
Any advice?
