Hi All,
I have been doing quite a bit of reading through the forums but cannot find my exact fault code so thought I would see if anyone has come across this before?
Basically purchased an E-Class W213 220D a couple of weeks ago (Private purchase) EML came on (Oh bugger I thought) Took it to a local MB specialist and they diagnosed it as needing a AdBlue injector. The fault code is P30064c The efficiency of the SCR catalytic converter (cylinder bank 1) is not sufficient.
MB Specialist replaced the injector all good for around 3 days then the EML came back on! Took it back to garage and they plugged the car in and scanned again, cleared the code and said there's basically nothing wrong with it. Again 3 days later and today the EML is back on again. One thing I have noticed is that the AdBlue is showing full even after driving around 500 miles... it's not reducing at all? says 4400 miles to go since I have got the car. This makes me think after reading through the forums has it had in the past a AdBlue delete? Would I still get EML to do with the system if it has had an AdBlue delete. I'm just wondering what I should do next... The car drives fine with no issues. No other warnings etc. I have noticed that there is a recall for Adaption Diagnoses (Service campaign) which I think might be a software update? Might help with the issue.

Any advice or if anyone has had this before would be really appreciated.

Get it working..... then either sell it or get it mapped out....the latter is of course not technically legal but hey-ho. Having read dozens of Adblue problem threads on here I would not touch an Adblue Merc with someone else's very long pole! Although some people do drive them with no issues there is a sizable minority that have poored thousands into this issue...injectors, Adblue tanks, etc. Many other makers don't seem to have problems building an Adblue system that's fit for purpose...don't think I've ever seen a thread on it over on the ALFA forums for example....but Merc seem to struggle.

If the car had the 'AdBlue delete' done, then you wouldn't see the AdBlue range display on the instrument cluster menu.

It would be interesting to know what fault codes did the car register when it threw up the EML on the dash - hopefully the MB specialist made a note of the fault codes before erasing them.

Thanks for the reply. The fault code on the invoice was . P30064c The efficiency of the SCR catalytic converter (cylinder bank 1) is not sufficient

Hi if you’re car has had a adblue delete and it goes to MB for software and its put one there star that will put it back the way it was ie if there was a problem with the adblue system that will delete the remap

Is that factual?
Or will MB refuse to update the software?

No they will still do the software but they wouldn’t know it had been adblue delete until it was on star or they were looking for it how to I know it happened to me

I've just put a bottle of Crystal Clean & Protect | Wynn's Europe in my E400D. Speaking to the previous owner, he said he didn't have any issues with the adblue, but did have issues with cracking the OE wheels, of course the seller may have been economical with the truth, but we shall see.

I have just noticed that the range on the AdBlue has dropped from 4400mls to 4300mls so must be using some adblue. Waiting for the Crystal Clean to be delivered and going to try that.

OE 19". Looking at the clearances, Certain 18" may fit, but it'll depend on the design and it will be very close.
Good luck , you don’t really hear about 18’s having problems .
