No, I'm not joking.
It was at Copart salvage auction a few weeks ago.
Light side damage, airbag warning light on, can't remember what else.
It's unrecorded on HPI.

It's a nice looking car though and there's not many LWB 320s with AMG kit and all the toys.

Don't discount it, just be aware that it's had 'issues'. The ad says finance repo but it was more likely stolen/recovered. It's just his way of explaining the lack of history I guess.

PS. I don't think he paid anything like £28K for it.

Aside from it being 'repaired' which like you would put be off it seemed a bit high on miles for the price, but then the spec makes up for that a little?

I quick look on piston heads and 2007 / 8 models on half the millage for the same price (but maybe not the same spec?)

That will have gone through at £17-18k with the damage mentioned.

You can pick the early W221s up at Measham auctions and elsewhere for roughly £13k if you fancy taking a chance.....

I remembered it because I've been toying with the idea of a W221 myself.
66,000 miles on an 07 isn't high really, not for an S-Class diesel.
If it was stolen/recovered it may have been thrashed or it may have been stolen to order and found in a shipping container, you just don't know. Too many unknowns for £28K. For £32K you can get this newer one from MB Approved with a warranty.
The damage was very small if memory serves me correctly, hence no HPi marker.
The only other one I've seen with similar spec is this one but it's too much money and has been for sale for ages.

At sub £20K the cheaper W221 diesels are looking great value...
They don't seem to be the easiest cars to sell.

Well done Janner, for remembering that and spotting it.

Although it may not be an issue, it's useful to know, as at first glance the car looked great. That's the issue with non HPI recorded stuff, easy to buy, repair and pass on (with a nice tidy profit).
