The only people who take the badges off are the people with the small engines or the low spec cars usually, BMW were offering debadged cars from new (i dunno if they still do) and they found they that something like 80% of 318 buyers ordered them with no badges agianst 15% of 325 buyers.

Do it if YOU like it, but dont think anyone will be fooled into thinking its a flash model, more likely to assume its a base spec one.

I quite fancy debadging my E36, either that or putting E200 or something similar on it.

My AMG is debaged - great fun for taking people out at the lights!

My W204 320CDi Elegance was ordered without badges by choice. The only reason apart from looks is that people expect a cars performance to match the engine size etc. I like to keep them guessing.

Personally, if its a smaller engined car I would leave the badges on as it looks imo a bit sad if someone is trying to make their car look like more than it is.
e.g. a de-badged BMW 318i with a Halfords sourced m-power badge on the boot.

On the other hand, if your car is a beast it is totally acceptable to hide its light under a bushel.

I would leave them alone and "as is".
But each to his own.
I read on a different thread that the best way to get these badges off is to use a length of dental floss.

You can buy a tool specifically made for the job.
Used to work at the import centre for a major car manufacturer and the fella's there had them to remove non UK specific badges put on at the factory.
Would have your badges off in about one minute.

Cant remember where they were sourced from but if you can find your local Snap-on rep or something similar they may be able to point you in the right direction.

I vote leave the badges on. Without wishing to upset anybody, I certainly make assumptions about the drivers of debadged, or falsely-badged, cars:D

Leave em on and be proud of what you have!

leave 'em on! Original is best.....
