Top mount

I have a mysterious soft knocking on the front of my e320 and believe it might be the top mounts of the suspension, after having new springs fitted. My question is, how difficult is it to replace the mounts on my driveway.

Not sure about yours but my son did his without using his hoist. I think he put the front on stands so the suspension was untensioned - if that's a word.

So, I think it was all done from above so no lying on the ground. Others will comment on your car.

I lso recall he got a generous discount from MB when he bought them. They probably had them on the shelf. I think mine came from Lemfoerder but I can't remember. Either them or MB as quality can be variable elsewhere.

When I did mine the rubber was obviously deteriorated and split. Straightforward albeit fiddly (R129 SL)
