Happy Friday all! Popped out to the car this afternoon to be greeted by this lovely mess on the bonnet...

Looks like its gone right through the paint :(

Any thoughts on touch up pens? My gut tells me best to get it smart repaired.

Unfortunately touch up pens will not provide a perfect finish.

The only real solution in a bonnet respray.

SMART repairs are an option - but only do so if you can find someone highly recommended.

Good luck. 👍

Thanks CLK thought that might be the case. Think I'll go touch up pen in the short term just to protect it, very annoying but at least its not black!

A dark colour would be easier to deal with with a touch up pen. Looks like you will need to very carefully take the rough edges off the marks then fill in with touch up paint. Put a couple of "blobs" of paint on and don't try to drag it across the body - just fill in the marks. Either do this or go the whole hog with a proper respray in a recommended body shop - a cheap "smart repair" has a good chance of ending up looking worse - either through a slight shade difference or lacquer bloom or peel a couple of years down the line. You will then wish you had left the factory paint alone.

Damm what a pain, if you use a tough up pen get a blob of paint on a bit of plastic (so it don't dry out to quick) and dip a cocktail stick just in the end and touch in in bit by bit, it won't be perfect but a lot better than doing it with a brush, good luck with it.
