Tragic CLK/SLK crash

that ******** should be shot in the face

i was shocked when a good friend of mine who is 24 and has a lovly 4 year old 330i coupe said he had 4 pints and drove hom with 3 passengers and crashed his car as he was going to fast around a bend

i called him many many names and said if he was ever with me and had even had 1 pint id kick his **** if he tried to drive

some people are utter *******s and they end up living while the innocent die

he got away because of his injuries, thats utter BS and as usuall the more you break the law the more you get away with it like that tit of a goalkeeper and recently the portugease lorry driver

these people make me sick

Terrible, truely tragic. :(

The driver should not get away with it. Why can they not prosecute him when his is fit to face trial?

hope he goes down for at least half of his remaining life.

Senseless waste of life. very sad for the people who knew them.

I assume the courts will just wait until the idiot is well enought to face trial and then prosecute the stroker and send him to prison

i think he will be prosecuted when he recovers, i don't believe that he is getting away with it.

But yes these stories are so very sobering and are a true shock
to the system.

When i was at school a whole family in my grade was wiped out
by a truck driver that was high on some drug and crossed the
road and killed the four of them and an exchange student that
was spending time with the family.
Damn, that was a horrible day.....................

I read another report of this , the guy who survived isn't going to be prosecuted because he isn't going to recover .... he is in a 'persistant vegetative state'

Punishment enough surely ?

Clearly a very tragic event and you have to feel for the couple in the CLK.

As for the guy standing trial - reading between the lines - it looks like he will never be fit to stand trial and will perhaps face a more divine judgement for the rest of his life without needing a court's intervention.

A timely reminder of the consequences though as we do start to think about Christmas parties and the such like, where the temptation to have just another then drive home can be strong.......

Things like this and the states some people get into with drink about the town really do make me glad to be teetotal!

so so sad

SO sad,

Thing is leemanuel you may not drink but others do and THATS the problem. The couple in the CLK hadn't been drinking.

Will the guy in the SLK even remember what he has done? I doubt it.

Yes, I hope the SLK driver has such bad injuries that he will never ever forget this event. That would be the only justice.

Guys , the SLK driver is a vegetable ( i have been looking for the report i read , but can't find it ) ...

He won't be remembering anything ever again , let alone the crash .

Lets hope he is not just suffering from " Saunder's Syndrome". e.g.
Ernest Saunder's appealed against his sentence of five years in prison, and on 16 May 1991, the sentence was reduced to two and a half years. Lord Justice Neill said that he was satisfied that Saunders was suffering from pre-senile dementia associated with Alzheimer's disease, which is incurable. With full parole, Saunders was released from Ford Open Prison on 28 June 1991 having served only 10 months of his sentence.
After release, he recovered from the symptoms which had led to the diagnosis. In an interview with The Times published in January 1992, Saunders said the symptoms were a result of a "cocktail of tranquilisers and sleeping tablets" he had been prescribed, and that he was making a good recovery. It is frequently asserted that Saunders procured his early release by pretending to have Alzheimer's, otherwise he is the only known person alive to recover from the disease.

.......

But this guy was capable of undertaking cognitive processes - the driver of the SLK clearly isn't. He is existing his own self inflicted life sentence from which he is unlikely to ever recover.

Maybe I am sounding pious here, but I don't believe in rough justice or 'an eye for an eye' retaliation.
The death of the innocent people is tragic indeed and that man's brain injuries are sad too.
But wishing continuous ill health upon anyone is inhumane. It stirs up long lasting hatred and is not a way to live our lives.
Forgiveness is certainly difficult, but I feel a better conclusion than hatred.
.......steps down from his soap box

Several times in my life I nearly had my head busted open by someone offering beer and I declined. Talk about peer pressure. Alcohol does nothing but cause trouble.

Good people shoot bad people all the time. It has something to do with justice (be it rough).

Couldn't agree more - a bit of humanity goes a long way.....

Hold on it said...

Edwards had refused to give a blood sample to police but while he was unconscious in hospital following the crash, nurses took a sample which revealed he had been drinkdriving and had used cannabis.

I'm surprised he was well enough to refuse a breath test in the first place.
