Hi all, i recieved my transmission dipstick today with a 25 degree mark at the bottom and 80 degree mark at the top and 1200 overall length.
i stuck it down the trans tube (three times to make sure) and the level was way over the 80 degree mark and the car has not been started in approxiamately a week. So its over filled, ive been driving it for weeks like this and gear changes have been rough but not too bad.
Makes me wonder why its over filled, but any adverse issues to watch out for?
im changing the oil and filter soon (on its way) and have installed an oil cooler (removing the one in the radiator from the circuit) as theyve been known to leak causing oil and water to mix.
i will find out after the change whether i have an issues i guess.
Thanks Karl

Was the engine running , gearbox in park on a flat surface when you checked it ?

Don't forget that when the car has been parked for some time, the ATF will drain back into the sump. You should check the level as W1ghty and Trickythemerc said.

Thanks , this is why i thought it had been over filled. I do realise the the car needs to be at op temp and gears cycled through before taking a measurement, but didnt know that the oil will have drained back into the sump, so thinking it shouldve showed somwhere on the cold side of the dipstick , i thought way too much.
