S55 AMG
<div class="bbWrapper">I sent a mail to my local tuning firm a couple of days ago, to see if they could put my S55k on the rolling road, to finish off the work I have been doing.<br /> I got a load of tuning stuff from Kleemann a couple of years ago, and did an overhaul on the heads, plus new oil pump,water pump, chains etc.<br /> The trouble is, the car get stood up for a long time, I got very ill and could not work on it.<br /> The ECU got moisture in it, so I had to send it off to a firm in Birmingham to have it repaired.<br /> I dont know if they did anything to the software, but I am not convinced I am getting the best out of the engine, plus there is a flat spot when I kickdown.<br /> the local tuners say that I should find an AMG specialist to tune it, and they could not do the job (I think it was more a case of cold feet).<br /> But I dont know of any tuner that specialises in AMG`s.<br /> Does anyone know of such a firm?<br /> The closer to Lincolnshire the better.<br /> <br /> Thanks<br /> Steve.</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">The two that spring to mind are Big Fish Tuning in Middlesbrough, and MSL in Birmingham.</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">Thanks, I am thinking MSL.<br /> Middlesbrough is a bit further than I wanted to go, but Birmingham is OK for me, because I have an Uncle who lives there that I have not seen in a while.<br /> I just wondered if there was something closer to home.</div>
 
<div class="bbWrapper">There could be someone closer, but the two mentioned are well known to many of the AMG-driving members here and are amongst the most experienced with ECU tuning AMG cars in the UK.</div>

Very pleased with the results. 10% increase in BHP, 770n/m torque, 170mph on the Autobahn and still accelerating until traffic.<br /> Phil does his work via the OBD port while the car is live on the dyno so the changes are optimised for the individual car in real time. No plug 'n' play stuff. This also means there are no physical changes to components or signs of entry. When he ran it up to 183mph in 4th I asked why he didn't go to 5th.
