TV Tuner

Hi

Can anybody help??

Ive go a Mercedes ML which has a command unit fitted, Ive just bought a TV tuner, Anntenas and a loom but not sure how to connect everything up. Can someone help as to how to fit everything and if i need any more loom???

i bought everything of e-bay and have pictures of items i have bough so if someone could help i would really apreciate it!!!

If you have a look at the link i can say that i have pluged the antenas into the black piece which is circuled in red

Next to the phones to the left which is not circuled i have connected the wiring from there to the back of the command, but not sure which wires to connact to the command, pls help???


and the white bit circuled i have not got no wiring for this, i take it that is for the power, will i need the wiring and if so where can i buy it from and any part numbers???


Also the phones what are these for, probably DVD etc but do i need to connect these anywere???

Pls help

also the anntenas that i have bough which are mercedes ones and they fit into the black input on the right where is the best place to put the antennas in the bumpers???

I have just finished a TV install in my 1998 e class. Is the loom a MB loom, if so all the connectors should match the outputs on the tuner. If you have the MB aerials, do you have the MB amps that go with them.

I kept away from the MB aerials and opted for a 4 way diversity antenna from Clarion, I just cut the MB plugs from the end of four coax cables and fitted standard connectors which I purchased from Maplin.

I do have a photo of the loom if you PM me you emai, I will send it to you.

Part of the loom will connect into the existing comand connectors C1 and C2 as follows:-

C1 connectors

pin1 - tv red
pin 2 - tv green
pin 3 - tv blue


C2 connector

pin 1 - wake up (Robert-Bosch CAN)
Pin 2 - Sound TV right
Pin 3 - Sound TV right ground
Pin 11 - Sound TV left
Pin 12 - Sound TV left ground
Pin 16 - Robert Bosch CAN shield
Pin 17 - Robert Bosch CAN Lo
Pin 18 - Robert Bosch CAN Hi


This is the configuration of my system and it works very well.

The phono sockets are for additional inputs for DVD or PS2 etc

I'd concur with your info . getting the pins into C1 can be a bit of a trial , c2 is a lot easier . i've done 2 tv installs EW210 and ML using an s class loom for the E and a 3rd part loom from ebay for the ML.

if anyone is interested I still have the S class rear tv screen & centre console bracket for sale - I had it in the back of the E class till I sold the car.

1)i have bought the TV-Tuner from ebay

2)4 ways Diversity TV antenna (not sure if they have amp with them, how do i check)

3)Comand 2.5 TV - Tuner Cableset

i have these 3 items, i know that the antennas fit in to the black bit of the tuner

the cable that i bought fits next to the phones but not sure how they connect to the command as instructions are in german!

and do i need a loom that fits in the white bit next to where the fuse is on tuner???

Any bit of advice will help or if you could send photos Please
