Picking up on a thread about a new E Class a member had ordered.

620Nm wasn't a figure I'd seen before, so I checked the MB website and according to the technical data the 3.0L CDI 252hp/620Nm engine is a TWIN TURBO - if this is the case, then praise the lord.

A twin turbo V6 3.0L diesel at last.

Unfortunately the configurator has been known to be wrong on occasions, but I hope this time it's right.

Has anyone seen any more news about this engine?

I note the estate engine configurator shows different data :(.

Isn't that the old 350 Bluetec diesel (single turbo) they're reviewing?

I believe the 3.0 V6 Diesels are still single turbo. My 2012 C is still single turbo with the quoted 620nm and I had a look at a 2013 E class the other day and it was the same story !

I truly hope its coming soon !

It would appear the single variable vane single turbo engine has been tweaked several times to increase power and torque -- at least in the European version. I can't find a single picture/reference to a twin turbo v6 diesel yet -- quite few on the new narrow V Chrysler based twin turbo petrol though. http://www.mercedes-fans.de/autoder...derwoche/autoderwoche_artikel/id=4849/start=2

And here's a nice piccy.

facelift E class coupe and cabriolet price list shows E350 BueTec and single turbo.

the E400 is a twin turbo petrol V6.

the 4 cylinder diesels (220 and 250) are twin turbos

A dodgy entry on the website configurator then - curses .

They need one if they want to keep up with the Audi Diesels.

I'm still hoping in Vain that BMW will make their big 550 Diesel Estate in RHD format, now that is the ultimate Diesel weapon currently available.

It's a 3.0l too J - but triple turbos.

The ML420 CDi I drove across France last year was incredible - the engine just pulls and pulls

You'd be amazed at how many people that think it's a 5 litre diesel engine.

Mind you, I know someone that also thinks the new A45 is a....4.5 litre V8???

That A45AMG vs CLS63 vid is impressive stuff.
