S350 amg line
Dear All
i am a new member, and thank you for accepting me to your forum.
i have a 2017. S350 amg line with 20 inch wheels back and front . They are slightly different sizes but are very low profile 35 and 40.

i do a lot of motor way driving and find the low profiles quite noisy.
would I be able to put 18 inch wheels on and if so in your opinion would it make much difference. Or could I put 20 inch tyres on that are not so low profile.

kind regards

Peter

Or get quieter tyres

And or sound deadening

You can fit 18" wheels to your S class.
These are the ones specifically for your model

Recommended tyre sizes are 245x50 x19 fronts, 275x45x18 rears.

Ha ha. Yes sorry
rear tyres are conti sport contact MO. 275/35 R 20 102Y

front tyres. Continue sport contact. MO. 245/40R20 99Y

hope that helps

Peter

Just checking. You show the front wheels wilder than the rear. Is that correct

No Peter. the 245 are on the front, the 275 on the rear as per my post above.

Ah, in that case, these fit your W222 model.

If you click on any wheel and scroll down it shows the recommended tyre size.
Some are a staggered wheel set up like you have now, and some are same sizes front and rear, depending on the chosen wheel.

They may not have them in stock but will be able to order them for you.
Quite often they are more competitive in price than 3rd party sellers.

Had my car serviced there last week. No complaints at all.

If all you want is a quieter ride, your current tyres are likely to be noise rated at 73db, and Goodyear Eagle Asymmetrics are usually 68 or 69db. The sound level doubles with each 3db rise, so you'd certainly notice the difference; I did on my E class estate, putting on the Goodyears to replace a pair of Contis on the front and noisy (74db) Chinese something-or-others on the rear.

A set of four tyres will be a lot cheaper than a set of wheels and tyres too.

Without looking at the links, are we sure the smaller wheels will fit over the brakes?
As that is a very major factor when recommending smaller wheels.
I think if it was mine I would be looking at the tyres assessing the db rating of the existing ones against whats available.
Possibly looking at the car's data card, and looking to see what make of tyre was fitted from build, as its an S class I would like to think the quietest tyres would of been chosen being the flagship model.
