Hi,

New to the world of MB ownership, recently gained a 1988 W124 E300D onto the fleet - and to be honest it's a complete wreck but I love a lost cause(plus I swapped it for an equally shed like toyota celica so nothing lost really). The but however, is a biggie - the plumbing has been somewhat hacked about - and there's missing/chopped hoses under there(mostly on the left side of the engine when viewed from the front).

Could anybody assist with pictures/schematics of the hoses from the expansion tank and the small electric pump that appears to be in the circuit?

Likewise there's what appears to be a filter bowl on the righthand inner wing that's been cut out of a circuit - what comes/goes from this and to/from where?

There's a raft of other problems but first just want to sort the above then I can think about sorting the others. Many thanks to all.

It sounds like it's been running on veg oil and the heater pipe and fuel pipes have been cut into to supply heat to the heat exchanger.

The pump is for the heater to operate when the engine is off. the feature is called REST.
