Not in a Vito but in my S203 I 'upgraded' to the Thermotronic climate control, bought new from MB. Fairly simple swap but did need STAR to reset the air flaps to work correctly. The digital control was far more reactive than the original analogue unit. Temperature swings were much reduced. I didn't add the sun sensor which would have improve temp control even further.
Ah I see Thankyou. I wondered about the air flaps. I expect I would leave them open and the new unit would determine how much air blown through dependant on user selection.
I wonder if I’d need star as well or if Icarsoft if anything else needed doing? I’d doubt it just because my vent flaps are manual so I could easily leave them open?
Thankyou
I meant the air distribution flaps behind the dashboard controlled by stepper motors. They weren't synchronised with the new unit and I guess one would always need to reset when changing the control unit. There is a 'soft' reset available by holding the Recirc and A/C buttons but it didn't complete in my case and STAR was needed.

Ah yes I see now. The air vent distribution buttons are still in the same place so then I guess they just need to show that on the display.
This unit suggests that should be taken care of without the need for any rework.
I’m old enough and definitely daft enough to have heard that before though
