I want to upgrade the navigation system on my C180 (2012). Is installing a NTG4.5 System Becker safe?

If your car has the Audio20 NTG4 5 infotainment unit with the Becket Map Pilot bracket inside the glove compartment, then you can buy a Becker Map Pilot navigation processor on eBay or Amazon and fit it into the bracket.
However, the Becket Map Pilot is an outdated system, you will be better off buying a unit that fits in the same Bracket and adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can then use Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze for navigation.
I can't recommend a particular brand, but below is a typical example from Ali Express:

Becker no longer support MapPilot, so as stated a modern plug and play system would be preferable.
