I know you can find out a PC's uptime quite easily - but does the bios store uptime anywhere?

I'd love to find out how many hours my PC has been on for in its lifetime (Over many many reinstalls etc...)

see if the HDD "SMART" info carries this, it certainly stores how many times it's been turned on.

I just downloaded this: PassMark DiskCheckup - SMART hard drive monitoring utility

It reports that the HDD on the laptop I'm using right now has been turned on for 392704 minutes which is nearly 273 solid days! It's been powered on 2028 times which means the average session has been about 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Fascinating eh? The HDD from my other PC (which has been turned off since January due to an unknown failure) is now sitting inside another PC. Originally it remained turned on 24/7 for several years so I imagine the SMART info will be interesting! Will check later. It's a seagate so might not support the same SMART info.

5 years uptime on that HDD! :D

Thanks, gonna give it a try!
