We have two modern Mercedes both with the self parking function. Apart from the first couple of days of ownership when we tried the system, yes it works very well, but I am certain I can and do park the car in a space quicker than it can, so apart from the first week we have never used it, in fact I probably would not be able to instigate the feature now.
Does anybody use the feature regularly??
Also cannot be bothered with changing the dashboard layout after trying all the options when it was new?
We also no longer can be bothered with changing the interior colour of the lighting using Hey Mercedes as all our friends have seen it working :)

So what gizmo's do you no longer use on your car or are we in the minority?

I was VERY dubious about the auto park feature on our new VW. Tried it and was blown away - it works perfectly. It is slow though, but expect most of that is down to safety considerations and not wanting to move a 2tn vehicle towards another 2tn vehicle rapidy in a space frequently occupied by pedestrians. My wife uses it frequently. I do think its bad for people to rely on though, as it'll be a lost skill at some point surely.

I have comfort ventilated seats that I’ve probably used less than five times in the 12 years I’ve had the car. But that’s five times more than I’ve used the parking aid.

Never had a car with self park..... but pretty sure I would not trust it if I did! If it hit something I would still be liable even though I was not driving it!....I'd rather crash it myself! Also, based on my friends car, it's embarrassingly slow.....too slow to use on a busy street whilst making other drivers wait for it to park itself.

I tease friends who try to brag about these aids by calling them "aids for old people". Having said that, although my vehicle could of had the self parking option, it only has the guidance which i find entertaining to use when the car suggests it as per the OP :D

I rarely use the flappy paddles on the SL, the auto box does a really good job in my opinion. 😀

Never used it, in fact I've just had to pop out to the car to see if it was fitted (it is). Bit embarrassing really.

Set it up when I first got it and realised that I'd got it to mirror the W213 it replaced. Left it ever since as it seems to suit.

Again, the ambient lighting was adjusted to a purple type colour when I first got the car, never been touched since. As for the voice thing, I've never used it, nor would I know how to.

It seems that most of the stuff fitted in mine is wasted on me. Having said that, I consider the above features to be just gadgets, not the reason for my getting the car in the first place. The long distance driving experience is what it was designed to do and it seems to do this pretty well, though I must admit to not using it to it's full potential very often. I still can't get into the adaptive cruise control, I've tried it on several cars but still don't trust it, preferring the earlier type like I had on my old W201. :)

Disclaimer: I am extrememly set in my ways, I tend to walk much more than drive nowadays. If I do need to drive locally, I take my old (1970) Ford pickup truck with no complicated electronics and single figure fuel consumption, the Mercedes tends to only get used for longer (100 mile and above) trips and car meets. In fact, the last time it went out was Benz on the Green back in early May. This does make it more of an occasion for me as it's still a very nice and relaxing place to be.

Sorry, I've waffled a bit. :)

Now have a BMW.....yes, I know.
Have yet to try the self park. Managed without it for 50 years.
Have never used the TV in my last three cars.
Sun roof...never been fond of them.
Gear paddles on steering wheel.
The listed items were on the car ( used)
When I purchased them.

I have self park on the new Nissan Townstar EV van that i purchased a few months ago..... I have never attempted 'self park' as it makes enough warning sounds when i park in a space vacated by a Mini !!! I doubt that it would even attempt some of the places that i do squeeze into --- Itching to try it though

Well like the op we all like well spec cars, but I hardly use any of them, but I am a extreme case,I have never used the cruise control in my car

I use it occasionally but have a gripe with that on my 2019 CLS! On my previous 2017 c class, it automatically searched for suitable space when the speed dropped below a certain speed (can't remember what speed) so you ignored it if you weren't looking to park but if you WERE it was all set up. On my CLS however, you have to press the button on the centre console to start it looking. First world problem I know but somethings you have to stop & find the button (which is close to the parking sensor deactivator & easy to press that by mistake). PS if you use it to park the car, it will also get you OUT of the space......which is nice.

I am embarrassed to say I've had parktronic on 4 mercs and used it only on 1. Mind it worked extremely well on that car. One merc I had for 3 years and 30k+ miles used parktronic 0 times. My current e class I've had for over 3 years and just under 30k miles and used it 0 times 🙃🙃🙃 I've used its satnav 0 times too and the crappy foot brake only a couple of times this year for example as it keeps getting stuck
And the auto start stop button on the last 3 cars came off as I use a ghost immobiliser and trying to start the car using the button is a royal pain in the rear

That crappy foot brake wasn’t used much on the car I bought second hand. Came to MOT last year and it failed on ineffective hand brake, I had to change rear discs and shoes plus rear pads as the inside of the discs were completely rusted up. I now occasionally apply the foot brake gently when pulling away slowly, just to keep them clean.

Our car has Parktronic. I've used it a couple of times, mainly just to see how well it works. It does do a good job, could use it more often I guess.
