I am thinking of moving the CLK on in order to fulfil my R129 ambitions. Question is what sort of money is my CLK320 worth? (dont say what someone is prepared to pay for it!)

Its a 99 V plate in Magma Red with Orion Grey Leather, 94k miles and full service history. Its recently had the desirable gearbox fluid flush with new filter and gaskets etc. The car is rust free (amazing) and in excellent condition and comes with some desirable equipment - air con, electric memory seats, heated seats, auto dim mirror and a set of freshly refurb'd 17" staggered AMG Monoblocks. Its the facelift model and everything works on it - everything. Its also had new rear pads, OSF shock absorber, draglink so it drives beautifully with untoward noises from worn components.

So armed with the above information what should I be asking for it? Prices seem to vary wildly so I want it to be competitive whilst reflecting the recent expenditure and overall condition. Over to you chaps....

How much do you think it's worth, after having a look around at the price of others?

Shame your selling it as you've spent a lot of time getting it upto scratch, unfortunately it won't be worth all the hard work in todays current market £2k max.

I'd say around £2k for a private sale :)

Colour might be a bit 'marmite' for some buyers though.

Could be worth selling the AMG wheels seperately?

I thought about selling the wheels separately but the original wheels are pretty corroded and spoil the car. Having said that I did spend a fair whack getting the wheels mint and putting decent rubber on them.
I am thinking that £1900 maybe a good starting point - it wont recoup the money I have spent on the car but that's not why we buy nice cars is it.

Thanks for the kind comment. I am in two minds over selling it but I really fancy a V8 before petrol spirals out of control more than it already has. Plus summer roof down driving appeals...

I for one love that red on the W208. I looked around for one in that colour for a good 6 months in 2006 before admitting defeat not finding a nice one and settling for light blue.

There are many bargain W208s around but I bet if you actually went to view them at least half would be complete dogs having been heavily used/abused. I found that many were in this condition even in 2006!

If yours is in tip top condition might be worth asking a little more to begin with. There will be some buyers out there who will have viewed some horrific examples and be happy to send a few hundred quid extra on a nice example?
