I have a friend who wants to dispose of the above car. It belongs to his daughter who a couple of years ago asked if she could park it on his driveway for a couple of months. Two years later it’s still there and he wants it gone. It’s been kept under cover and hasn’t been cleaned in that time. I’ve seen it and it’s in very good condition. The only rust I could see is above the N/S/F bumper a couple of inches in from the wheel arch. The mileage is 90,000, the engine purrs and it has a full MOT with good MOT history.
Haven’t seen one of these for ages let alone one for sale. Any idea what it’s worth?

It all depends on condition, and at 30 years old that's not as simple as at 3 years old. A minor issue can be thousands of pounds to fix on top of heavy day to day running costs: road tax, insurance, petrol and ULEZ

This, from 2018, this auction sale might might be a useful reference point. Prices have gone up and gone back down from 2018.

October's budget could also give it a bit of a kicking.

The difficult bit is simply finding someone who wants it.

There are people who want them, but there are some fabulous old cars out there which will grab their attention first.

I think the problem you will have will be finding a buyer.

I started looking for a 1990s S Class Coupe about a year ago - got one in February - and if I look at eBay / auto trader the ones that were available back then are still available now. One dealer has had one for sale for approaching almost 2 years.

Then the other way to look at it is a fresh to market car that's not been seen before could attract some interest.

Pricing wise it's hard to say. I'd look at the mileage / condition of the auto trader ones then use them as a guide. Between £4,500 to £6,000 seems reasonable to me based on what I saw but I'm not a car dealer or associated with the trade in any way and only basing on what I saw when I was looking.

I guess there's not much call for big engine, non ulez compliant cars any more 😞 plus parts are harder to find and they are not cheap to run.

But they are a great car to drive and people who know what it is want to talk to you about it. People who don't do as well as they want to find out more. Rarity has advantages.

Reinforcing the above, I have some friends who still happily run these on the basis that they're worth far more to them than they would be to sell. The ride and build quality is phenomenal, especially in the V12. As for advertising, it should go without saying that anyone can advertise a used motor on AT, but that's no indicator that it will ever sell at that price.

It's a nightmare for me because there are some really, really nice cars out there. You just have to live with the annual RFL, mpg, and the cost of parts.
