vauxhall calibra Mercedes

The Calibra is already a fantastic looking car, imho, so no need to modify it in this way. If he wanted to carry out this conversion, he could have at least chosen a V6 or Turbo version, those 4 stud, 14 inch Mk3 Cavalier/Vectra A CD alloys look seriously out of place!! V6's and turbos are five stud, with a wider range of wheel options :).

No worse than the desperate styling on the latest E-Class coupe.

Not a bad job on a 20 year old design and who knows - it might be a 200bhp turbo with 4WD.

Flare the wheelarches and fit better wheels and no-one other than MB geeks could tell the difference. Speaks volumes for Mercedes "styling". :o

I think that almost looks nice just needs to sort out the wheels and body

A five stud hub conversion (very easy to do) and some suitable, deep dish alloys, and he'd be well away.

Alloys such as this :-

Would work very well. The car in the photos, incidently, is a very rare one off convertible Calibra, converted at a cost of around £14,000 for the original owner (from what the owner of the vehicle told me!!).

^ Maff's DTM almost looks as good as that! ;)

"...very rare one off..." means unique I'd say.

An interesting thought!!

Caught on a speed camera. Ask what car. They look at picture and say Mercedes. Reply "but it's a Vauxhall Calibra"!!

Wonder where that would end up??

Wonder what's on the V5??!!

Ive actually thought about this before when stuck in traffic behind one, it would have made a better CL than CLK to be honest

Or...

How about a CLS?

going by it being LHD , and the German police car in the background , I assume it is the OPEL equivalent model - if such a thing exists .

Not sure about todays standards, but it was the most Aerodynamic car at the time.

I seriously hope that anyone who has posted a positive comment about this disgraceful assault on the Mercedes Benz brand is, like I was in the 2nd post on this thread, JOKING!

As many of you have expressed why try and make it a Merc. For the cost of remodelling his Calibra he could have had

1. An exceptional Calibra
2. A real Merc

Wonder if I can make the C32 look like an Aston if I use some glue and papier mache?
