Hi Everyone - Bit of a weird one, just wondered if anyone else had encountered?

I have a W203 C180K Classic SE 4DR Petrol Auto registered 15/03/2005 which I believe should be 193g/Km Band J for VED.
The V5c states the model as Classic SE as above.
The DVLA for some reason has it classified as VED band K which is for cars (same model) 203g/Km registered 01/07/2004 - 30/09/2024

The DVLA has asked me to get a letter from the dealer the car was bought from to clarify - 20 years ago in Scotland! (I'm in Bristol).

Apart from a genuine mistake is there any reason why my car would fall into the higher group?

Models with different specs, weights, amount of extras, wider tyres often add a few mg of co ....this can push them into the next band. But it can work the other way...my car is pretty much poverty spec....but although it's only Euro 5 is ULEZ compliant.... many others of the same year are not.

My 2006 C180K Classic SE (M271) was 193g/Km Band J.

Can you check your car's delivery date on the Datacard?

This.

When I bought my 2009 C180k blue efficiency it scrapped into a lower band at 149g/km. Any modification such as increasing tyre width by as little as 10mm pushed it up to the next band. I can remember seeing a table with every model variation listed with different g/km figures.

Thanks for the advice :thumb: - I know mine has AMG suspension/Brakes and staggered wheels (I have the Mercedes Workshop software and viewed the original spec) but isn't classed a "Sport" model so maybe thats it :dk:

The staggered wheels will be it.
