Hi all my old 99 vito is on life support! As its rusty, leaking, and a pain in the rear!
BUT! I cant let her go! So with loads of enthusiasm and a touch of senial dementure i plan to cut a hole in the floor and fit either a 4x4 engine and transfer box , front and rear axles the full 9 yards! So ok? Im 60 year old pretty good with both ends of a spanner/hammer just looking for any advice/ help ( apart from telling me im mad!)
Thanks

Of course you're mad but don't let that stop you!

Way back when, I helped a friend put a mid mounted Jaguar V12 in a Ford Thames 400E. Sadly our ways parted before it was road legal but it was a self powered rolling vehicle. Lots of box section, welding and an anything is possible attitude were used in abundance.

Sounds like a great project, my only concern would be the condition of the bodywork of your 638 as I've owned them & know what they're like..

Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Not such a silly idea, this one was actually useful in testing the Jaguar XJ220 driveline components before there were any real 220's.

The Ford van that helped Jaguar build the XJ220 - Videohttps://www.roadandtrack.com › car-culture › videos › this-ford-transit-hel...

You can see it here at the rear of the field of 'fully clothed' 220's a couple of years ago.

I drove it 'in period (90-91)' and more recently.
A Doctor writes " Now Mr Oldcole-- when exactly did you decide to stop taking your medication?"
Its like asking Pablo Picasso to paint in a couple of foreground figures to finish off a John Constable- the best you can hope for is something by Pieter Breughel the Younger!<img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f609.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=";)" title="Wink ;)" data-smilie="2"data-shortname=";)" />
