Hi All,

My brake lights stay on as soon as the ignition is applied, this started only recently last thing I did was replace the brake pipes.

Also the passenger side rear fog lamp does not come on. I have replaced the bulbs with no change, disconnected battery overnight but still the same.

Thinking it might be the brake pedal switch I replaced it today and things got better and worked as should for 10 minutes and back to same fault.

I now have the ABS and traction light on also, disconnecting the pedal switch does not cure the fault, checked all the relays and fuses and applied contact cleaner without and change.

Desperate to get it fixed and MOTed as I need it for work.

With the ignition off and key removed I can hear a noise near/under the fuse box, is this normal?

Any fast help would be appreciated.

Did you fit a MB switch? If I remember correctly the ABS & traction light are a sympton of a faulty brake switch(even though you just changed it).

Hi,

Yes I did but a mate was at the scrappy and got one from a sprinter, this replacement second user switch worked but only for a few minutes.
Could something else in the electrical switch be blowing these switches?

I suspect you are right something blew that switch, the fact that it worked for a few minutes is I think the give away, now all we need is somebody to find out how this is happening

Hopefully somebody will be along soon who knows! Sorry.

Hi All,

I bough a new switch from Mercedes £12.00 and the problem is solved. All good again.

Thank you again for all the support

Fog light should only work in one side ( driver’s side ) - EU regs to prevent confusion with brake lights.
