Vito cut out

Hello everyone, Fantastic forum and really helpful. I own a vito 111 cdi 55 plate and been having problems with the engine cutting out when the van has warmed up. Theres no warning at all when this happens with the engine losing power leading to cut out. Ive had it to an independent Merc specialist and hes checked fuel lines and changed the fuel filter all to no avail. Since speaking to the garage they have said that its probably a sticking injector and to bring the van back in, but looking back I had a towbar fitted around the period the problems started so could this also be feasible.

You really cannot guess with this, it needs Star to fine the fault code.
Indys need star or there a waste of time trying.

Thanks zenman, obviously I dont want to be back and forth to the garage eliminating problems that arent there. Have you any idea what costs(roughly) it would be for a star reading?.

Most I have paid at mercedes £56 inc the vat, but £100 ph to fix it.

Just spoke to my Indy, who said hes going to have the van over the next couple of days to see what happens when it cuts out and then he reckons he can identify which injector is at fault. As this isnt costing me anything I think its worth a go. The indy in question is Merc trained and assures me this is the problem .
I have mentioned the star read but hes adamant this is the fault.
