Hi, I am thinking of purchasing a 2017 Vito w447 and it is ideal for what I want to use it for but only has 2 seats in the front and i would like to change this to a 3 seater if I was to buy it.
I just wondered how hard this would be to do and if it would end up costing me a lot more money as I have also noticed that the base would need to be replaced as well.
I have read a few forums and notice that some prefer to change from 3 seats to 2 seats in the front and on the off chance that anyone was doing this I would be willing to do a swap.
Thanks for any help and advice anyone can give me.

Hey Rocky,

What your planning is well documented on this forum, been a long time lurkers here, in my Vito (w639) the bench and drivers seat sits on a brace that fits between the B pillars, the seats you have sit on individual bases.

I'm swapping to two in the front in a few weeks, not sure of the compatibility with the W447 though.

Cheers

Hi Kamikazi,

Thank you for the help.
I’m starting to wonder if maybe it has had a bench passenger seat in before as it has a brace going from the ‘B’ pillars and a small yellow cable hanging down underneath not connected to anything or maybe that is as standard.
There is a base under the single passenger seat and a half width base between it and the drivers seat.
Would it be a case of removing the passenger seat and the bench seat would bolt onto the base and half width dash in the middle.

Thanks again.

Be aware (just in case you are not) that when you remove the double bench front passenger seat you should have the battery disconnected & NOT connect it with the seat sensor unplugged.
If you do connect the battery with the sensor unplugged, the SRS warning light on the dash will be activated. Annoyingly that is something that you are apparently unable to re-set with your normal code reader. I had to pay a MB indy' £30 just to plug their system & undo the SRS warning light when I removed my front passenger seat to clean it.

That set up sounds just like mine, maybe you just need a bench seat! How cool would that be?

There's a picture here of the double seat brace from an earlier post and from a forum member who my lurking has identified as someone who knows what he's talking about.

The dangly yellow wire I'm guessing would be for the sensor in the double seat, maybe there's a resistor in the end of the wire to stop the SRS light triggering.

If you need a bench seat then let me know, mines the grey cloth trim 2011 with very little wear. I was going to go down the GLA seat conversion but also interested in doing a deal with your passenger seat if its looking for a new home?

If not no worries.

Cheers

That’s brilliant advice StMarks and Kamikazi, the picture has been a great help as it looks as if a bench seat would fit right on.
Thanks for the offer Kamikazi that would have been great but I’ve ordered a bench seat from a dismantler with the Tunga to match.
Once it arrives I will have a single seat available if you would be interested. I’ll post a picture of it.
I’ve also put a picture of the middle to see if you tell if it looks like the bench seat would fit on it.

That middle bit is different to mine, there's no pressing in the shape of cups, mines flat, guess once the new bench turns up you'll know if it fits.

Interested in your seat but looks like a different trim to the one I have, whereabouts are you in Scotland?

Cheers K

I’m not far from me. When my seat arrives and it goes in ok I’ll give you a shout if you are still looking for a single seat

Hey,
Would someone be able to explain to me what I need for a double to single swivel conversation on my 2020 114 Vito passenger side only?
I think I've found all the pieces between eBay and Jennings seats, that I think I need, but if someone could confirm or advise I'd be very grateful.

-Single Passenger Chair, ebay (Tunga ideally)
-Single passenger base, eBay
- fasp swivel base, Jennings

Or where would domit for me perhaps?

It's the electrics I'm worried about as I have no idea what I'm doing here really.

sorry to revive this thread, some great advice across this platform though!

And help much appreciated.
