Hi all

I have a 2013 110cdi which I’ve just got and realised that it won’t rev past 3000rpm

Read fault codes and got P010106 intake air system / charge air system - offset drift at idle

No eml light on dash, just a message ‘visit workshop’

Any ideas what could be causing this? I’ve checked intake boot and it’s all connected,

Thanks in advance

boost leak - pressure sensor drift/offset - MAF offset - intake flap malfunction - clogged air filter - something else...

How can I test these before throwing money on sensors (apart from air filter)

boost leak - visual test for cooler ends, cooler hoses, turbo connections, intake manifold connections. Open EGR and clean it. Or get a smoke test kit.

When code triggers back after clearing, right after start? If code is not present immediately, intake flap should be seen moving when revving engine.

For sensors you need check live data. ALL(!) pressure sensor readings same when engine not running, no extreme values on idle or revs (again limp mode may result boost pressure be down).

For MAF SDS has specific test, it can also do boost test, flap test, egr test... lotsa easier than blindly do anything.

When I first got my S203 C270Cdi I had the same problem - would not rev past 3K, also kickdown on the autobox did not work. Had a warranty so took it to specified garage, MAF changed, problem solved.

Managed to get 10mins on it earlier today, got the fault codes to clear in the end but same symptom and got another code now.

P00BC62 - intake air system / charge air system - there is a signal below the permissible limit value

The MAF has been replaced at some point, as it’s dated 2023 and Hella brand. Not sure if this is causing the issue. Also noticed oil residue at the branch on the intake pipe with the crankcase breather.
