If thinking about cars from Charlie, you surely can afford the ones from Bolide.

Hi mika hope your well all his cars are top money but I assume prepared to a high standard he has ads monthly in merc enthusiast magazine and always has a good selection of cars for sale do a search I am sure he has been discussed here before.

Car belonged to my parent's next door neighbour. Let's just say when he died, the car was almost given away to Mr Ironside, who has sold it once before. Immaculate car.

I take it this is the car you was going to buy when you joined the forum

Given the choice I would go for a more modern engine than the 230.

Correct. We knew the car and owner since 1992 to his death in 2010. For about 10 years used only once a week to drive a 10 mile round trip from his house to the local co-op and back again, and for the last two years sat unused as he couldn't drive.

My offer was accepted then rejected and he didn't really want to sell it. I offered more than it was sold for, and I would have had more than a new battery put in.

We ran a 230 for a while.
Fuel economy was pretty dismal for that size of engine.

No air, no leather.

Charlie Ironprice strikes again.

hello trapper

Ironprice-thats just been awarded my word of the week!:thumb:

fair point re the aircon ...i actually like cloth almost as much as leather

that mileage is rather nice though

As soon as you start using it the mileage will escallate, negating the low mileage, collectable, value you would have paid over the odds for.

A higher mileage 280/320 or 300D would make a better daily use proposition.
