w124 300te 24 Auto climate control

Hi,
Seeking advice on my Auto climate control that has just started to go wrong ,that sometimes will work and be hot, then suddenly stops and will blow cold air . Not sure what restarts it , sometimes pushing the off button resets it . I just do not understand where and what is going on or who to go to that understand W124 as I am in a new area travelling between Esher Surrey and Faversham Kent . Thanks
