Hi All,
It would be nice if the owners and experts of W124 can help.
Mercedes w124 230E 1992 year.
Alloy wheels 18"x 8.5"
Rear tyres 225/45/18 Front tyres 215/35/18
The moment she reached 50mph and over I have got ABS light ON on the board.
Please tell me is it possible that ABS sensors on the front wheels notice that tyre ratio(profile) is too low or all 3 sensors notice that size between rear and front tyres is different.
Huge Thanks

Im no expert but I would thing you may have solved your own problem...Rear tyres being different to the front,..it begs the question why would you ave different sizes in the first place.....also I wouldnt think the ABS Sensor would know if you had a worm tyre...

On the front 18" 8.5" ET 43 is touching shocks. With the spacers 225/45/18 tyre rubbing the fender. In this case ABS sensor light on the board is off after engine start and stay off whatever is speed of the car.

My factory Alloy wheels are 15"
Tyre 195/65/15
ABS sensors monitor the speed of each wheel on your car.Everyone knows this.
Now overall diameter of wheel and tyre 215/35/18" is nearly 2" smaller then overall diameter of factory wheel.
Speed of front wheels is different then rear wheels then maybe 3td ABS sensor on diff. is confused.
I do not know maybe someone here knows more about this.

Thank You

Lips on the front arch are rolled. No I haven't wing spacers.
Could you please tell me is it problem in front wheels profile or different diameter tyres between rear and front.

ABS light comes ON at speed 50mph and now thanks to you I know why.
Could you please let me know Is it OK to drive with ABS light on in my case (W124)?
Can this cause any damage to ECU or something else on W124?

Thank you

I don't know if it will cause damage but your ABS won't be able to operate properly in an emergency because it's getting wrong readings. You need to change tyres to matching circumferences.

Update.
Rear -225/45/18
Front-195/65/15
50mph,60mph,70mph no ABS light.
