w124 ce 220 stalling issues

hi, just replaced the coil packs after they suddenly let go the other day.

problem now is that the engine will cut out from idle under load. very tricky on hill starts. you have to feather the throttle and hope it picks up before the idle fails.

not sure where to check, your help is appreciated.

after checking the timing, air leaks, purge valve, it has been suggested the lambda sensing may need changing.

has anyone else had this happen?

I take it that the ht leads and spark plugs are in good condition? Do the plugs look sooty?
