Lots of Mercedes!
Just had a 'debate' with a customer.

1989 W124 CE (coupe not cabrio) - should the windows drop a little when closing or opening the door like later models, CL, CLK etc.

Need a definitive answer.

Don't remember mine doing it and I just ran outside to check a 94 E220...that doesn't do it.
I thought the first car with it was the C140?

ill wait for a couple of more replies before commencing my walk around the building with a smug grin.

No Jay,they don`t

Mine don't on a 1991 300 24v Coupe. Ian Walkers don't on his J Reg one either.

Wasn't ever an Option either.......

1991 300CE-24: They do not drop and never have.

Customer was adament that they should drop down.
I informed him that they shouldnt and explained the clever design of the door seal.. but no, he has had Mercedes forever and knows more than I...
He got a little upset and his wife also got involved and told me that I didnt know what I was talking about as his last 1987 model definitely did.

Then he told me the seat back didnt lock and that would be an MOT failure... His old one was also broke.
This time I had to put him right so I ran the car, put it in gear and demonstrated how they work.

He bought the car anyway! said he will spend money putting the windows right... hee hee

the customer is ALWAYS right.
