Hi all. Have started my 300ce this week as have decided to put her back on the road for the summer but have got some issues with the electrics which weren't there before. The driver's window goes down on the centre console switch but won't go back up. I had to lock the car and hold the key in the lock position and the window went up fine. Similar with the seat belt presenter. It comes out fine but won't go back in when the belt is fastened as it used to. Any ideas? She has been parked up for best part of a year. Thanks in advance, Ade.

Morning Ade. Weird stuff went on with my 124 regarding windows and wipers! a few years ago. Try the same actions with the drivers door open!! if the items then work as they should do then, it could point to a mucky fuse/s. Maybe time to take all the fuses out, give them a clean at both ends and the fuse holders too in the box. Others will be along soon will more technical explanations.

Thanks for that. It failed mot today but only on perished brake pipes so the guy is sorting it for me and should have it back tomorrow. He reckons the electrical stuff is caused by dampness because the car has been basically abandoned for the last 7 years. It all worked fine last year when I drove it 1000 miles back from France. Anyway going to use it more now and going to check if there are any meets going on around Marlow.

In response to the info regarding fuses may I thank everyone who offered advice because they were spot on. I bought a bag load of "continental" fuses from EBay, replaced the old ones cleaning up the contacts at the same time and hey presto, everything works again, even the sunroof! The last thing I have to sort out, if anyone knows a simple remedy, is the passenger rear window motor is working fine but not taking the window with it. The mot guy told me the carriage may be rusty and is stuck to the window not the mechanism. Anybody know of anyone who might know a quick fix rather than having to take the inside of the car to bits to get to it? Would really like to tax it beginning of June and use it :-)
