Hi Guys.
New to the forum and have been looking around, i own a 1995 e220 auto and recently the head gasket has gone, i knew it was on its way as iv bought it as a project from the previous owner and to be fair it needs some work but its going to be a long term project.
My question was this, im stuck at a crossroads of to rebuild the old engine etc or look into a newer engine conversion, im no stranger to engine transplants and have done some in the past on old fords, Nissan etc.
So my question is whats the best engine conversion in regards to power and value? i dont mind spending the time and effort doing the car as its a labour of love at the moment, i was thinking one of the 230 Kompressor engines but haven't seen much evidence of them been done and everything iv read about the 500 v8 looks like hell to do.
if anyone has any links or positive input and advice that would be great, Thanks in advance.
