W124 Heater Fan Removal

Hi All,

The heater fan in my W124 300TD Estate (1992) is just about to give up the ghost..oh what timing!

Anyway, I've done a search on the forum and it seems to be a relatively common failure item. My question is how does one set about removal of offending motor and are replacements available.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Its under the windscreen firewall plastic panel... its fairly straightforward but you do need to protect the bottom of the windscreen once you get all the plastic off as its easy to chip the screen which then turns into a crack.

Wunderpartz have the Meyle blower motors on ebay for around £75 delivered which isn't too bad vs the dealer cost.
