W126 280SE Newbie

Thought i'd join you guys as there's not too many W126 forums available in the UK!!
She's a 1983 280SE with 140,000 miles & full service history, plus totally factory standard!!

Thanks, not a bad 'ole bus for £500!! Had it for about 10 months & haven't had to splash any cash on it yet, although the MOT is due soon so fingers crossed!!
Not the most economical model but it's surprisingly nippy & oh so easy to spin the rear wheels!!

Got a few bits of tidying to do plus some old bat bent my rear door a while ago, got most of it out so will do for now!!
These door are made from pretty thick metal so didn't pop out like the new tin cans of today!!!!!

Welcome Stempies. Saw one of these floating around Leyland Lancashire today. Same colour, didn't get the spec. Condition appeared similar ie fantastic.

nice looking car stempies and its a huge heap of car for the the price as well.i found mine last october a 1991 reg in 92 300se tax and mot all for £570 got the guy down from £750 and what a bargin it is use it everyday to float around in as one woud do in such a car haha

Hello Stempies - another 'nice to see you over here' from me as well !

Like you , I have an early 280SE , mine is an 84 on a B plate , but like yours has air con ! It seems strange , but I know of a couple of other people over on the MBOC forum who have 280SE's with air con , yet lots of newer and larger engined variants don't !

Mine is not quite so original as I've been fitting a leather interior plus a few other options not originally on it - but I'm only fitting genuine MB parts from other cars I've found breaking so at least it looks authentic .

Your car looks lovely , pity about the door damage but at worst there are plenty of cars breaking if you need a door .

Take good care of it .

That is an absolute bargain of the decade for £500! Great colour as well. Every day I like my W126 more, they are such an all-round good car.
