Hi, I am a newbie to this forum and have read through a few pages worth of threads before asking this to ensure that it hadn't been answered elsewhere!

My blue SEC380 has been painted under previous owners and as such has suffered the ravages of time. The problem is that replacement wings from MB cost £275+VAT for the n/s and £305+VAT for the o/s, so we were thinking of cutting new arches and welding them on.

We can get non-OEM wheelarches for an SE for about £30+VAT.

Are the SE front wings the same shape as the SEC? Or at least, are the wheelarches of the same dimension?

I also need new chrome bits for the front bumper. If anyone can offer advise, please let me know.

risk it for a biscuit, just dont cut the original till your sure!

At a last resort you could get some chrome arches, weld them on and smooth with filler.

Front chromes are hard to come buy for reasonable money, the corners are the same between SE and SEC, although the centre piece is different you can still fit an SE centre chome to an SEC at last resort. There was a bloke on ebay a while ago who had 20 complete bumpers with chrome and he didnt seem to want the earth for them.

Set out to fix a 50p sized rust patch on my rear arch and it turned out to be about a quarter of the arch rotten, all covered up by the insualtion. Now theres a hole into the cavity where the rear window mech sits. Anyone know if there are repair panels for the SEC rear arches or will it need to be fabricated?
